The Blue Rose - Symbol of the Mystical & the Unattainable
The "power" of the blue rose comes from its symbolism. Because blue roses don't naturally occur in nature, it symbolizes secrets, the unknown, and things that are difficult or impossible to achieve. It represents the pursuit of dreams and the belief that the impossible can become real, encouraging determination, hope, and persistence. As a symbol of the mystical and the unattainable, the Blue Rose holds a special place in esoteric and occult traditions. It’s a symbol of something rare and elusive, the pursuit of the impossible or the mysteries that are beyond human comprehension, and the journey toward higher consciousness and the divine. The Blue Rose is associated with the Divine Feminine and the nurturing, intuitive, and creative aspects of the universe. The Path of the Blue Rose is a transformative journey of the soul as it moves from ignorance to enlightenment, and the continuous quest for deeper wisdom. In the occult, the Blue Rose is connected to sacred geometry, the unfolding of cosmic truths, and the hidden patterns of the universe. It signifies the idea of unity and completeness, bringing together disparate elements into a harmonious whole, reflecting the interconnectedness of all things. The Blue Rose is related to the Shekinah, to accessing the forgotten and buried Sophianic presence that is found in the black hole at the center of the galaxy as the Cosmic Womb – the place of creation and creativity, as well as in the processes of alchemy and the mysteries of life, death, and rebirth practices, and in silence. These concepts collectively make the Blue Rose a powerful symbol of spiritual aspiration and mystical wisdom.
Sophia, Mary Magdalene and the Blue Rose
The relationship between Sophia, Mary Magdalene, and the Blue Rose tradition is deeply rooted in esoteric symbolism and the exploration of the Divine Feminine. Sophia is a central figure in Gnostic tradition, often personified as Wisdom and the feminine aspect of the Divine. In many Gnostic texts, she represents the source of all spiritual knowledge and the one who brings enlightenment to humanity. Sophia is often seen as a guide and a protector of spiritual truths. Mary Magdalene is viewed as the incarnate embodiment of Sophia, a bearer of divine wisdom and a key figure in the teachings of Jesus/Sophianic Wisdom Traditions. In the context of the Grail mysteries, she is sometimes portrayed as the guardian of the sacred lineage and the keeper of hidden spiritual truths, embodying the Divine Feminine and the transformative power of love and compassion. The Blue Rose is a symbol of the quest for deeper wisdom, the unfolding of spiritual mysteries, and the journey toward enlightenment and the pursuit of the divine. In the context of Sophia and Mary Magdalene, the Blue Rose tradition highlights the path of inner awakening and the embrace of the Divine Feminine. When we bring these elements together, we see a rich tapestry of Divine Feminine Wisdom. Sophia provides the archetype of Divine Wisdom, Mary Magdalene embodies that wisdom in human form, and the Blue Rose serves as the symbol of the unity between the cosmic forces and the physical dimension, coming together in harmony and balance, bringing the integration of spiritual wisdom, compassionate love, the mystical quest for enlightenment, and the physical realm.
For a more in-depth study of the Sophia, Mary Magdalene, and the Blue Rose connection, we recommend a PDF created by Veronica Goodchild, PHD, called "The Magdalene Mysteries and the Path of the Blue Rose." It is an outstanding article and highly recommended for anyone interested in the Path of the Blue Rose.
Temple Sophia Unity Fellowship and the Path of the Blue Rose
Just as the founders of Temple Sophia Unity Fellowship have gone through a continuous spiritual evolution over the course of their lifetimes, Temple Sophia Unity Fellowship, as an organization, has undergone its own spiritual evolution since its spiritual conception years ago. Temple Sophia Unity Fellowship was created at the direction of Mary Magdalene in 2017 and is a 501C3, whose focus is on humanitarian service. Since its creation, Temple Sophia Unity Fellowship has remained a very small, close-knit community of mystics and seekers. But we were always reminded by both Mary Magdalene and Sophia that the field of human consciousness is in one of the darkest ebbs since this current spiritual dispensation began. We were told that the ancient souls who have incarnated at this time in response to this dark ebb are awakening, uniting and creating a synergy of divine light to counter the darkness. Temple Sophia Unity Fellowship is a divinely inspired gathering place for these ancient beings to join forces and work together.
After a very difficult 2025, we felt an ever-increasing urgency to leave our fulltime employment and dedicate ourselves to our spiritual pursuits and the work of Temple Sophia. In November2025, we unanimously decided to take a huge leap of faith and resigned from our fulltime jobs to focus all of our attention on Temple Sophia and our life's mission. Which brings us to the Path of the Blue Rose. We knew when we took this leap of faith that we did not have the financial resources to meet even our short-term needs. Embracing the cosmic principles of uncertainty and faith, we chose to take that leap of faith into an uncertain future anyway. During this time, we maintained our faith, embraced uncertainty and focused on our spiritual path. We avoided any thoughts of scarcity and focused solely on our spiritual path and our life's mission. Our financial resources were extremely limited, with no money, no resources and no relief in sight. The very night that our finances ran out, I received a text from my bank indicating that a substantial deposit had just been posted to my account. I immediately went online to verify the text, and the substantial deposit was, indeed, there. Immediately after that moment of financial blessing, we began seeing images of blue roses in our minds and everywhere we looked. I had never imaged that a blue rose even existed and never expected to see one. Now blue roses seemed to be everywhere. It became so prevalent that we went online to ascertain what the significance might be for us. That investigation led us to the Path of the Blue Rose and its association with the unknown and things that are difficult or impossible to achieve. Our unconditional faith and our willingness to accept uncertainty allowed the Universe to provide for our needs without limitation or expectation on our part. We had just tapped a universal truth within a previously unknown wisdom tradition and that experience has forever changed our lives and Temple Sophia Unity Fellowship.
While we had previously loosely defined our spiritual path as mystic, gnostic and Sophianic, and had described Temple Sophia Unity Fellowship in those exact terms, the mystic experience related to our leap of faith and the subsequent blue rose visions opened our consciousness to a new level of understanding and connection, a quantum leap in consciousness.
While the mystic, gnostic, Sophianic tradition embraced every aspect of personal experience of one's own divinity, higher states of consciousness, an understanding of the universal oneness of creation, and embracing and embodying Love, Gratitude, Mindfulness, and Generosity as the cornerstones of a truly spiritual life, the Path of the Blue Rose encompassed so much more.
The Path of the Blue Rose - Seeing through Different Eyes
In this life, our spiritual path is a journey, not a destination. Wisdom traditions, mystery schools and even the direct interaction with Ascended Masters do not change the prerequisites of the so-called Ascension Process. As we move toward ever higher levels of frequency as our state of being, our consciousness expands and evolves. As divine sparks of Pure Consciousness, as literal Gods and Goddesses Incarnate within an illusionary physical realm of duality, our ability to remember who we truly are and embody that remembrance establishes the eyes through which we see not only ourselves, but how we see reality itself. The metaphysical gifts, talents and abilities that we develop, and the intensity of those abilities are directly tied to our connection to our true divine essence. Our entire life's spiritual journey is about that divine remembrance process called our spiritual awakening. Many of us have had direct contact and interaction with inter-dimensional beings, Ascended Masters, star beings and even Mary Magdalene and the Divine Mother, Sophia, herself.
All of the spiritual experiences, however powerful and life changing they may be, does not change one simple fact, we are human, in a physical body and experiencing all of the highs and lows of a mortal life. As close to gnosis as I have been able to experience at the deepest levels of my very essence have not changed the fact that I must still be incarnate. I still have mortal mind chatter, and I still feel pure raw emotion like every other living person. Ultimately, the only change that spiritual growth actually produces is the eyes through which you perceive, interpret and respond to your daily life experiences.
It took me decades on my spiritual path to take that leap of faith and leave gainful employment with no financial safety net. Absolute faith and the ability to face an uncertain future with a joyous expectation of a truly positive outcome did not just happen. I had lived, practiced and embodied those qualities before I ever had the confidence to test my resolve. I had to first overcome my addiction to scarcity. My wellbeing and the wellbeing of those I loved left me constantly terrified of not having enough. Then I realized the ancient axiom as "Within so without." Fear only breeds more opportunities to be fearful. Fear of scarcity only breeds more opportunities to feel scarcity. I attracted into my life those experiences that exactly matched my state of mind and being. Our outer reality only changes when our inner reality aligns with the new paradigm we desire.
Looking Up or Looking Down
As I mentioned earlier, when I took my leap of faith, I began having constant visions of blue roses. I bought a bouquet of silk blue roses and put them in a conspicuous place in my home. I became obsessed with blue roses. I began reading everything I could find on the esoteric and occult meaning of blue roses and discovered countless webpages about the Order of the Blue Rose and the Path of the Blue Rose. I resonated deeply with the Path of the Blue Rose, but nothing I read, however enlightening, truly resonated within me. I wasn't searching for an intellectual understanding. I was searching for something that touched deep within me. I didn't want to just know the answer; I wanted to feel the answer deep within my soul.
After an exhausting search and great deal of intellectual insight, Mary Magdalene and Sophia provided the spiritual insight I was so diligently seeking. The deepest, heartfelt question I was seeking to answer was very simple. I have spent most of my adult life on the spiritual path of the mystic and gnostic, awakening, remembering and embodying my pure Divine Essence, my true self, within this incarnate reality. I have experienced that gnosis. When I spent three days buried within the ground, I truly underwent my death and resurrection. I experienced being a drop of water within the vast ocean and being both the drop and the vast ocean at the same instant. For a brief moment, I truly experienced being human, being a spark of Pure Divine Consciousness, and being that Pure Divine Consciousness itself simultaneously.
But the Blue Rose is something entirely different. This is no longer about gnosis. I instinctively knew that this was an evolution beyond gnosis and I could not rest until I truly understood what the Blue Rose was trying to inspire within me. Gnosis is about looking up. It's about the process of awakening, remembering, embracing and embodying our true Divine Self, the eternal, immortal spark of God. It's not about becoming one with God. It about remembering and embodying the eternal truth that we are God. We are the drop of water and the vast ocean.
If gnosis is about looking up, then what is the Blue Rose? Mary Magdalene and Sophia, each in their own unique way, brought me to the realization that the Blue Rose was about looking back down. It's about overcoming the illusion of separation created by the duality of the physical plane. It's about becoming one with every aspect of creation. It's about radiating our divine light back into the fullness of creation. It's about truly embracing and understanding the world in which we live as those enlightened men and women did before us. It's about understanding the universal consciousness at the heart of creation and the individual spark of that consciousness in every individual aspect of creation. It's about the influence of the subtle energy fields that affect us and all of creation constantly. It's about understanding sacred geometry, Hermetics, ley lines, universal energy grids, sound and harmonics, light and color, and so much more. It's not about intellectual knowledge per se. It's about being spiritual connected to these fields of consciousness and allowing them to transmit their individual light codes into us and through us. It's about knowing that we are not alone in our universe. There are countless other evolved, intelligent beings beyond our normal comprehension, some of whom are light years more advanced than any Earthly era of humanity has ever been. it's about understanding that universal consciousness is the language of creation. The Blue Rose calls us to become fluent in that language and become an active force within the universe.
In conclusion, mysticism and gnosis are about the spiritual path of looking up. The Path of the Blue Rose is about looking back down and the path of being Divinity Incarnate. Whether you are looking up or down is not the issue. It's all about the journey to the fullness of who we truly are and radiating that fullness throughout creation. Ultimately, that is our spiritual life's mission.
Universal Truth in Our Modern Day
As I was wrapping up my final comments on this webpage, a few afterthoughts came to mind that defined the crux of this whole page in just as few simple words. From the Hermetic principle from the Emerald Tablet comes the wisdom teaching, "As within, so without. As above, so below. As the Universe, so the soul." From the words of Jesus comes, "He who has eyes to see, let them see. He who have ears to hear, let them hear." And finally, from the ancient Greek wisdom teaching, "To know nature is to know God." The ancient wisdom teachings have guided the true seekers of spiritual enlightenment since the dawn of time and are just as relevant today as they were throughout the ages of humanity. Each of the wisdom teachings were given to mortals in a moment of stillness, reflection and deep inner soul work. That can be truly said of the Blue Rose wisdom teachings that I received in exactly the same way. Each of you who read this page will take away from it what is relevant to you at whatever stage of life and your unique spiritual path you may be. I'm sure the lessons of the Blue Rose will continue to open its truths to me as I am ready to receive, embrace and embody them. May we each have the eyes to see and the ears to hear the universal truths that remind us constantly that we have existed before the dawn of creation and have lived an infinite number of lives before this one. As the saying goes, "This is not our first rodeo."
